You will need a 'merchant' account.
TIP: You don't need to be a 'business' to have a merchant account, an individual can also have a merchant account.

- Check the box that says: "For extra security, my company will only post digitally signed XML shopping carts. (Google should reject all others)"
- Check XML as your call back method.
- Now Save.
(3) Preferences
- Click on: PREFERENCES on the left side of page at Google Checkout. - Check the box that says: "Automatically authorize and charge the buyer's credit card." VERY IMPORTANT!! Now save preferences.
(4) Within usednappies:
- go to: Members Area -> My Account -> Manage Account -> Direct Payment Settings
- enter your GoogleCheckout Merchant ID & Key

(A) Logon onto www.usednappies.co.uk- from the 'members area' click on the 'selling icon' - click on the 'sold' link - next to each sold item you can send product invoices Once these invoices have been sent they can be viewed from the same area. (A) It is possible that your email provider or security software may file the activation email in your junk mail. You may want to add admin@usednappies.co.uk as a trusted email address.
Hotmail users:
1) In the upper-right corner of the Windows Live Hotmail home page, click Options. 2) Under Junk email, click Safe and blocked senders. 3) Click Safe senders. 4) Enter 'usednappies.co.uk' domain, and then click Add to List.
AOL users:
Add us to your address book:
1. On the AOL Email window, click the Addresses button. 2. Click the New button, choose New Contact from the list, then click it. 3. In the First Name: and Last Name: boxes, type the name of the recipient (eg admin usednappies) 4. In the Email1: box, type: admin@usednappies.co.uk 5. If needed, add any other optional information. 6. Click the Preferred Email: drop-down menu to open it, choose the preferred email address from the list, then click it. 7. Click the Save button.
Review your spam Settings:
1. Select Email options - block unwanted email 2. Allow email only from people I know 3. Do NOT tick: block email containing pictures or files (our logo is included in system mails) 4. Blocked email deliver to spam folder 5. Save (A) When describing the condition please be clear in order to avoid disappointment. We recommend that you are as open and honest as possible; please make reference to any discoloration on the inside or outside, or any characteristics that would distinguish from a new nappy (e.g. poppers not working, elastic over-stretched etc.)
We also recommend listing two photographs showing both the outside & inside of the nappies. (A) Yes! We recommend that all nappies for sale are washed at 60°C before selling. Please advise the buyer if you use biological or non-biological powder. (A) To register, click on the 'register' link - blue button found near the top on the screen on the home page. (A) In accordance with standard law under 18's cannot participate in auctions as they are legal binding contracts. (A) You have either entered an incorrect email address, or your username contains invalid characters (only letters a-z and numbers 0-9 are valid for a username). (A) You may be using the Safari browser on an Apple Mac - this browser is not supported - we recommend Firefox/ Mozilla browser for the Mac. Which can be downloaded from:

Remember you can add a reserve to ensure you sell for the minimum you are happy to accept. (A) You only need a PayPal account to pay The Used Nappy Company your end of auction selling fees, which will be detailed on your monthly invoice. You will not be charged by PayPal for doing this. However, we also recommend you use PayPal to receive payment for the sale of your nappies as this automates the process, (follow our PayPal Direct Payment & IPN instructions below). If you prefer other methods of payment, please specify in your listing. (A) To enable PayPal or NoChex 'Direct Payment' (which allows buyers to pay you immediately for your auctions) for The Used Nappy Company, 1. Login into www.usednappies.co.uk
2. Click on the My Account icon from the 'Members' tab - Select 'Manage Account'
3. Enter your PayPal or NoChex registered email address under 'Direct Payment Systems' (A) If you use Paypal as a direct payment method, (for receiving payments from your buyers), you will also need to setup Instant Payment Notification (IPN) which will automatically update the status of your sale directly on the usednappies.co.uk website, to do this:
1. Login to PayPal
2. Click the My Account tab.
3. Click the Profile subtab
4. Click the Instant Payment Notification Preferences link in the Selling Preferences column
5. Click Edit
6.Tick the checkbox and enter the URL http://www.usednappies.co.uk/pp_paypal.php
7. Click Save
You have successfully activated IPN. (A) PayPal IPN (Instant Payment Notification) is only available if you have a PayPal 'Premier' account. You can upgrade to a Premier Account for free from www.paypal.com and clicking on the 'Sign Up' button. (A) No - this site is available for any parent to use, wherever they are in the world. Please make sure you select your correct country when registering, and make it clear if you are willing to post internationally when listing. (For our American cousins 'nappy' is British for diaper!) (A) You must first be a registered member. Once you have registered simply login to your account and click on the "Sell" link. The first thing to do is select a general category (i.e. a manufacturer, for example Mother-ease) for your item, note that you can choose a more specific category further into the listing process. You can then enter in your item description.
Please see our Help section for more information. (A) Yes you can, however we recomend you use basic tags as complex HTML descriptions may not display correctly. (A) You can keep an eye on everything you are selling by visiting your members area and selecting the "selling" page. (A) We recommend you batch nappies of the same size & type together in batches of between 5-10, and sell them as a single lot. If you have a large mix of nappies of different types and sizes you may find the bulk upload facility useful. This can be found from the members area. (A) If no bids have been placed, the 'edit' option will be available in the 'Members Area' next to each listing. If bid(s) have already been placed, you can add additional text to the auction only. Please contact The Used Nappy Company if you require us to edit an auction where bids have been placed. (A) Dutch auctions allow you to sell multiple nappies individually through one listing. e.g. if you have 10 identical Fuzzi Bunz nappies that you want to sell individually, rather than creating 10 listings, you can create one 'Dutch Auction' listing and select a quantity of 10. By doing this each nappy can be sold individually. (A) You can give the buyer the option to pay for recorded delivery. If recorded delivery is not chosen or offered we recommend that sellers always obtain proof of postage to help resolve any issues. We also recommend reviewing the insurance available when posting high value items, (please note lower value items may be already covered by your postal provider). (A) You may be using the Safari browser on an Apple Mac, this browser is not supported. We recommend the Firefox/ Mozilla browser for the Mac.
(A) No, you have entered into a legally binding contract when you bid, unless the seller releases you from this obligation. You can retract a bid if made in error, please see the FAQ question related to this. (A) To place a bid on an item you must first login to your account. Once logged in, a bidding box will be displayed at the bottom of all auction pages. You can use this box to place your chosen bid. (A) You can keep an eye on everything you are bidding on by visiting your members area and selecting the "bidding" page. (A) Our auction system will automatically notify you via email if you are outbid. (A) You can contact the seller via the message board and arrange payment (or pay directly via PayPal if the seller offers this option). (A) Sellers often list a low start price in order to gain interest in their nappies, but include a reserve price to ensure the item doesn't sell for less than the minimum they are willing to accept. (A) If a buyer has mistakenly bid on an item they can retract their bid.
1) You can retract your bid from the 'Members Area' 2) Select the 'Bidding' Icon 3) Select the 'Retract Bid' link next to the relevant item ***We suggest you send a message to the seller if you are retracting a bid*** (A) Some local councils offer cash-back incentive schemes for buying real nappies, we are working with these councils to get approval for these schemes to apply to doubly eco-friendly used nappies! Ask your seller for an invoice via the message board, and contact your local council to ask if the purchase is eligible. Check out our Web Directory for links to your local council. (A) Click on the 'MEMBERS' tab, and select Bidding
1) If the seller has setup direct PayPal or NoChex payment, the 'Pay with Direct Payment' option will be available.
2) If direct payment is not available please contact the seller via the Message Board to request payment instructions. |
